microscope slides for DNA and protein microarrays
- more than 10x higher signal for probing lower expression rate genes
- sensitive to lower abundance proteins
- discover RNA or proteins that you cannot see with your old slides

The microscope slides have a thin glaze of silica nanoparticles, shown below, which imparts a high surface area and optical transparency. The silica particles are chemically modified with epoxy, aldehyde, amino, or custom silanes. They provide more than 10x higher fluorescence or chemiluminescence signal.

The scanning electron micrograph illustrates the science of these slides. The high surface area and optical transparency are due to a thin coating of silica nanoparticles that are organized as a porous crystal.

bioVidria, Inc. is located in the Arizona Center for Innovation, in Tucson, AZ. We use silica colloidal crystals as a platform technology for a suite of products for fast biological analysis, with our microarray substrates as the first product line. We welcome prospective business partners, scientific collaborators, and investors.
